Adapting Your Summer Wardrobe for Autumn:

I absolutely adore autumn. This season is perfect for indulging in steaming hot drinks, hearty soups, and comforting meals with loved ones. The shorter days seem to inspire a slower pace of life, offering a valuable opportunity to reflect on the year and prepare for the colder months ahead. To me, autumn represents a time of revival, warmth, and natural beauty, and I cherish every single moment of it.

As the temperatures drop and the leaves start to turn, it's time to start thinking about how we can adapt our summer clothes for the new season. Fortunately, there are plenty of ways to do this without having to invest in a whole new wardrobe.

The key is to focus on layering, accessorising and styling your existing pieces in new and interesting ways.

When it comes to adapting to the new season, we've got you! Macaroon Collection has a beautiful collection of accessories to help you transition from summer to autumn with ease.

One of the first things to consider when adapting your summer wardrobe into autumn is which pieces can be carried over. Look for items that can be layered, such as lightweight dresses that can be worn with tights, boots and a cardigan or jacket. Shorts and skirts can also be paired with tights and boots, while sleeveless tops can be layered over long-sleeved shirts or worn under blazers.

Colours & Prints

When it comes to colours and prints, don't be afraid to experiment. Rich jewel tones like emerald, burgundy and navy are perfect for autumn and can be paired with brighter colours for a striking contrast. Prints like florals and stripes can also work well, especially when combined with autumnal textures like leather, tweed and wool.

Investing in some versatile layering pieces is another great way to adapt your wardrobe. A lightweight scarf, denim or leather jacket, chunky knit cardigan or trench coat can all be worn over your summer outfits to add warmth and style. These pieces will also come in handy when the temperature drops even further in winter.

Change your STEP

Footwear is also key when it comes to adapting your wardrobe. Swap your sandals for ankle boots, sneakers or trainers for a more autumnal look. Neutral shades will go with everything in your wardrobe, while metallic finishes or bright shades can add a pop of interest to your outfits.

Finally, accessories are an easy way to update your summer wardrobe for autumn. Swap your straw bag for a leather tote or cross-body bag, and switch your sun hat for a stylish fedora or beanie. Jewellery can also be used to add interest to your outfits – think statement earrings, layered necklaces and stacked rings.

Adapting your summer wardrobe into autumn doesn't have to be complicated. By focusing on layering, accessorising and styling your existing pieces in new and interesting ways, you can make the most of your summer wardrobe and stay stylish as the seasons change.
